The client

A global public services provider operating across multiple continents approached 50 Degrees with the intention of refreshing and future-proofing its international growth strategy. Utilising the wider expertise of our internal team and a deep understanding of different public sector commissioning practices across the globe, we were tasked with identifying new markets, diversifying the client’s existing service delivery lines, and aligning their go-to-market approach with evolving government priorities.

The challenge

To ensure that the client’s revised growth strategy was competitive, scalable, and aligned to strategic priorities, we needed to develop a clear and differentiated offer that identified and targeted the right markets. This included exploring adjacent service areas and strengthening the organisation’s existing commercial model to resonate more effectively with public sector commissioners across various international markets.

What we did

50 Degrees devised a comprehensive international market development strategy focusing on diversification, market positioning, and commercial enablement. This included:

Market Review and Diversification Strategy Development: conducting detailed scans of various public and private sector markets (including youth services, health, justice, and employment and skills) across 30+ countries to identify relevant opportunities aligned to client strengths and capabilities. Our teams carried out extensive evaluations of policy trends, investment flows, and competitive dynamics and presented our findings in a 75+ page report containing a strategic roadmap and recommended next steps.

Sales and Account Management Support: reviewing the client’s existing sales and relationship management approach across various international markets, working closely with their senior commercial leads to develop a more structure and scalable model for strategic account management.
