Overview

The Health and Care division of a leading global workplace services provider, reached out to 50 Degrees to support its bid for a Soft FM contract with East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT). The five-year opportunity covered cleaning, security, housekeeping, portering, and visitor management services across the Trust’s Colchester and Ipswich estates. The bid required a clear service model capable of delivering consistent standards while supporting operational improvement.

Challenge

ESNEFT wanted a partner capable of delivering consistent, high-quality Soft FM services across multiple hospital sites. The procurement placed strong emphasis on value for money, safe mobilisation, and continuous improvement. Maximising the patient experience was a core requirement of the bid, and our client needed to show how its approach would strengthen day-to-day delivering while introducing practical innovations aligned with NHS priorities.

Strategy

50 Degrees led bid coordination, working closely with our client's operational specialists to shape the proposed service delivery model. Together we developed integrated solutions across all the key service lines, challenging assumptions to ensure the approach delivered both quality and efficiency. Our team managed the overall submission process, including commercial inputs and response development. Alongside written content, we worked with our design partner to produce a range of branded visual materials that clarified complex operational processes and service flows. We also developed a practical mobilisation roadmap covering TUPE, workforce planning, digital systems, and contract governance.

Results

Our client was awarded the multi-million-pound ESNEFT contract, establishing a new Soft FM partnership with the Trust. The final submission clearly demonstrated how services would be delivered safely, consistently, and efficiently across the estate. Our support helped translate operational expertise into a structured, persuasive proposal aligned with NHS expectations that placed the patient experience front and centre.
