Overview

A global financial services organisation, launched a competitive procurement for integrated catering and hospitality across its UK and Ireland offices, covering everything from workplace dining to high-profile client events. The brief went beyond food- it was about creating a hospitality experience that truly reflected their brand. 50 Degrees worked closely with our client and our design partner TDL to shape a distinctive, design-led proposal that brought their offer to life.

Challenge

This wasn’t a standard corporate catering bid. The commissioner wanted a partner who could deliver consistently high-quality experiences across very different settings – from everyday workplace dining to premium events and VIP hosting. The solution needed to feel seamless, personalised and digitally-enabled. The challenge was not just designing the service, but communicating it in a way that felt credible and aligned to their client's expectations.

Strategy

50 Degrees worked closely with our client's internal catering team to design a zoned hospitality concept capable of flexing across hybrid work, in-office dining, and events. Our focus was on making the experience tangible: defining service rituals, mapping customer journeys, and showing how digital tools would support personalisation and responsiveness.

With support from design specialists at TDL, we created a brochure-style proposal that looked and read differently to a standard bid. The result combined strong visual design with clear messaging, helping evaluators quickly understand both the detail and the ambition behind our client's offer.

Results

The final submission presented a clear, confident vision of how hospitality would be delivered across the commissioner's estate. It balanced operational detail with a strong sense of brand and experience, creating a proposal that stood out in a competitive process and strengthened our client's position in the corporate hospitality market.
